They’re are few places like Fred’s Lounge left in the world. In 1946 Alfred "Fred" Tate purchased the old bar on Main Street in Mamou Louisianna. Every Saturday morning announcer Mark Lane steps to the microphone and kicks off a musical ruckus that has been broadcast live on  KVPI (1050AM) out of Ville Platte for more than 55 years. The two hour radio show and the floor full of couple dancing inspire a true sense of nostalgia that is absolutely infectious and a must for any for Cajun Country explorers.
